Ron ‘Bumblefoot’ Thal, the lead guitarist of Guns N’ Roses, will be performing live at Pustaka Negeri featuring local sape artiste Jerry Kamit (Tuku Kame) tonight.

Bumblefoot’s live performance, his first visit here, was made possible by Pustaka Negeri Sarawak and the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.

He arrived in Kuching yesterday and conducted a guitar workshop at Pusaka Negeri Sarawak’s auditorium.

An award-winning veteran musician and producer, Bumblefoot  has over 20 years of releasing music, international festivals and solo performances.

Bumblefoot ( left ) has also been an active contributor to charities through donating songs and performances.

He often performs at events for medical research, disaster relief and children’s health issue.

Bumblefoot’s unique ‘fretless guitar’ can be heard throughout GNR’s 2008 Chinese Democracy album.

In 2011, he released an innovative digital series that include transcriptions and backing tracks for guitarists and recording for re-mixers, incuding a cover of ‘The Pink Panther Theme’ featuring members of Gun N’ Roses.

Bumblefoot has current collaboration that include DMC and Scott Weiland of Art Of Anarchy to be released on June 2 this year.

He was looking forward to tonight’s concert and thanked Pusataka Negeri Sarawak and the US Embassy in Kuala Lumpur for making his trip to Kuching possible, which enabled him to meet his fans.

“I am very happy to be in Kuching, the people are nice and very friendly and I definitely want to come back here,” he told attendees at his guitar workshop in Kuching yesterday.
