Myanmar’s Yangon International Airport has reopened after being forced to close yesterday due to strong winds and blackout in the airport area.

Airport sources today said flights at the airport have resumed normal operations, Xinhua news agency reported.

Authorities yesterday announced suspension of flight services at the airport starting 6pm (local time).

Yesterday, strong winds hit several areas in southern Myanmar including Yangon and brought down trees and obstructed traffic flow.
