Pakatan Rakyat-friendly NGO Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia (PasMa) will collate views to be included in a "manifesto", which it hopes Pakatan Rakyat will take on for the 14th general election.

The PAS-linked NGO’s president Phahrolrazi Zawawi in his speech in PasMa’s convention in Shah Alam said this “manifesto” will be handed over to Pakatan before the next polls.

Met later, Phahrolrazi told Malaysiakini the manifesto is meant to help Pakatan.

"(It will include) what the rakyat wants from a government. From there, we will collate these views and propose it to Pakatan," he said.

The town hall meetings it hopes to hold to collate these views will also be used to rebut any misperceptions against PasMa, he said.

"We will hold more dialogues and events which will be open to all who want to raise questions about us. This will help clarify matters.

"Most do not understand PasMa’s objective, and accuse us of many things which has tainted our image,” said Phahrolrazi (left) who is also Pengkalan Kundor assemblyperson.

PasMa has been accused of being behind an internal campaign to oust incumbent PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

PAS elections will take place in June.

Phahrolrazi, who resigned from all party posts following pressure due to his involvement in PasMa, earlier said PasMa will register as a political party to replace PAS in Pakatan if PAS leaves the coalition.

Ties within the tripartite Pakatan are strained, with DAP and PKR opposing PAS’ move to push for the implementation of hudud.

Yesterday, PasMa in a statement said it will mobilise 1,000 volunteers to assist Pakatan Rakyat in the ongoing Permatang Pauh by-election campaign.

Its volunteers will meet voters and clarify on current issues, especially the hudud, it said in a statement.
