YOURSAY ‘I am rather shocked by Chong Wei's blaming game.’
Chong Wei not drugged by me, says Ling's wife
Vijay47: Ong Ee Nah may well not be the VIP wife who gave Lee Chong Wei cordyseps but considering her relationship with the politician in question, her denial does not carry much weight.
After all, Ling Leong Sik testified in court that he did not have anything shady to do with the Port Klang Free Zone (PKFZ) scandal.
Another thing, Chong Wei is stated to have kindly refrained from naming the woman in question, lest "dire consequences" befall her.
What misfortune is he fearful about? That she might be given a datuk title? Or worse, made Malaysian ambassador to the United States?
Nothing at all will happen to her. This is Malaysia, you can even get away with murder.
Victor Johan: Lee Chong Wei, you are deemed a top shuttler, and you had consumed banned substances. Period.
Perhaps you should stick to the game of badminton and stop playing the game of politics.
You choose to name an influential wife 'in camera', and are leaving others to speculations. You are surely not stupid, and neither are we.
Lim Chong Leong: Why so many secrets involving our top national shuttler? Why not just say who gave him the testosterone capsule casings?
Why must the VIP be protected so much so that they cannot disclose an honest mistake? It is situations like these that lead people to believe something is rotten.
KSD: This whole issue is a cover-up and sham. The Badminton World Federation (BWF) should be ashamed. Lee Chong Wei should be ashamed.
A world-class top athlete should know what to take or not. Secondly, saying that the capsule gels may contain the banned substance is a joke. Minute amounts of contamination will not show up in tests, Chong Wei was likely to have taking a serious amount of the banned substance.
He may or may not have known that he was taking drugs but the fact remains that someone was giving him drugs.
His punishment is nothing more than a slap on the wrist and another example of why sports will never be clean from performance drugs.
Malaysia Ku: So was it a red herring thrown by Lee Chong Wei? He said he couldn't mention her name. Why? Because she doesn't exist?
So her name is now under the Official Secrets Act (OSA)? How convenient, isn't it?
Anonymous007: Frankly, I am rather shocked by Chong Wei's blaming game. He should know better what to take and what not to take, and be humble enough to accept responsibility, regardless of how little it may be.
Funny 1M: Is not fair to put the blame of the person give him cordyseps. I sure that person mean no harm.
Maybe those using Chinese herbs should be more careful because anything from China can be contaminated due the greedy business traders. Even red dates are treated with sulphur to prevent them from going rotten.
Homesick: Whichever way you want to look at it, a cheat is a cheat. Like all cheats, when caught or found out, they would come up with all sorts of illogical excuses and reasons.
T: Regardless of who gave him the pills, it was Chong Wei who took them and the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) did not bother to check or conduct any tests. They bore the ultimate responsibility, as the BWF has concluded.
Justine Gow: What we can say definitely is that the cordyseps tablets are not gifts from Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail or Betty Chew.
As for the name most speculated so far, we cannot say anything for sure even though the horse’s mouth has said that she is not the one. But then who cares?
'No action against Chong Wei’s tainted pills giver'
Anonymous #574625: Why bring up this stuff when the case is almost closed. You eat the "whatever it is" so you are responsible for the outcome. Don't try to push it to a woman. Be a man.
Abasir: If the woman in question had an ounce of decency, she would have come forward to do a mea culpa - something that would have spared the other two women the attention they often crave.... well at least one of them.
In any case, Lee is damaged goods. He has chosen to hide the identity of the culprit and he keeps shuttling among these heavily made-up women, almost thrice his age ... all of whom, it appears, are coloured with varying shades of gray.
Doc: If Sports and Youth Minister Khairy Jamaluddin says no action will be taken against the pill pusher, it's safe to say the person is politically well-connected and high up in the BN circle.
