Warning for Azizah - PAS members won't vote

TehTarik: Bagan PAS information chief Azmi Jaafar’s threat is the first step to a hudud-inspired Umno-PAS coalition government.

Such a Malay-Muslim coalition will sweep most Muslim-majority seats in the next elections, giving PM Najib Razak more breathing space.

The hudud private member’s bill, to be tabled in May 2015, will surprise many non-Muslims. Let’s wait and see if my predictions come true.

The poorer rural folk will forget about the Goods and Services Tax (GST) once the state-by-state hudud implementation begins.

Anonymous_3e86: This was the surprise Umno mentioned about last week. It is obvious PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang has a hand in this.

Hadi has been conspiring to team up with Umno but wants to make it look like PKR and DAP forced PAS out of the Pakatan coalition. Hadi does not want to look like a traitor. So he has created all these problems to pressure DAP and PKR to boot PAS out of Pakatan instead.

If DAP and PKR fall into Hadi's trap in booting PAS out, DAP and PKR will be blamed instead of PAS for the break-up of Pakatan.

If PAS walks out of Pakatan on their own accord, PAS will lose many of their own supporters. PAS will then be spilt into two and perhaps even self-destruct.

James TCLow: These PAS members are pea-brained. If hudud is against the constitution, why should we, the rakyat, to support it? We are born with inquisitive brains, not dogmatic and regressive ones.

BTN: It's worth losing a few battles and knowing who is your enemies are than losing the war by continuing a relationship with PAS. Just divorce them and get a more trusted and reliable partner.

BH Yap: The story of PAS is a story of betrayal gone out of control. It has become a monster that will ultimately be friendly with Umno.

Jiminy Qrikert: Hadi has instructed PAS members not to vote for PKR in Permatang Pauh. So, they will act accordingly.

Penang PAS Youth reversing their boycott is not real. It is just ‘taqiyya’, deception, practised actively by the ulama leadership of the party. Hadi is, after all, the ‘taqiyya’ guru in PAS.

Malaytoo: Whatever the results in Permatang Pauh, PKR (and DAP) should seriously reconsider their partnership with PAS. No more wishy-washy, agree-to-disagree nonsense. Either PAS is fully in or out.

MA: I seriously think BN should win this by-election. It'll be a good wake-up call for Pakatan and hopefully the three parties within Pakatan do some stocktaking and chart their future directions instead of tiptoeing around fundamental issues and trying to fool all Malaysians.

Grilled lobsters and Xiaomi to lure votes

Basically: Perhaps voters should remember if they vote for BN’s candidate Suhaimi Sabudin it will mean one more Umno MP to vote for the Goods and Services Tax (GST), and more taxes and oppressive laws in parliament.

CQ Muar: To all the Permatang Pauh voters, ask yourselves these big questions: Where is the Umno-BN president, Najib Abdul Razak?

Even the display of his giant picture normally appearing in elections and by-elections are missing. What had gone wrong? What has he done and guilty of?

Is it the 1Malaysia Development Berhad’s (1MDB) allegedly missing RM27 billion, Altantuya Shaariibuu murder involvement, new procurement of another luxurious government jet at the expense of taxpayers, subsidy cut or the cruel GST imposition on the poor? These are highly pertinent questions to ask yourselves whom you should vote for.

The BN government can promise you the sun and moon, but can they fulfil it? This had been BN's gimmick and ploy for over 57 years... therefore don't be fooled further.

Vote for change in government - the only hope for a better future for our children and their children. Vote for Pakatan represented by Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, who will be assisted by Selangor MB Azmin Ali and Penang CM Lim Guan Eng if she wins again in Permatang Pauh.

Voting for the Umno/BN-led government will enrich them further. Many ordinary people and the poor will remain where we are, but those cabinet leaders, bigwigs, family members and cronies will be the benefactors at the end of the day. They are holding on to power to stay wealthy, but many of us will suffer in their hands.

Everything is wrong with the present regime: corruption, dictatorial administration, injustices, the police’s biased detention and arrest, untendered mega contracts, favouritism, cronyism, etc. Stop such malpractices by denying them the votes.

Justine Gow: I wish I were in Permatang Pauh now. Offering GST-free grilled lobsters to voters is a good way to drive home the negative effects the recent implementation of GST has on ordinary citizens who are struggling with daily living expenses.

New Force: Take the Xiaomi handphone and start sending SMSes to 50 friends, relatives, neighbours each to vote for Kak Wan.
