Pakatan, stop squabbling and get the job done

YOURSAY 'In battle, your focus is on the enemy and not the shortcomings of your comrade.'

DAP unhappy with PKR machinery in Pmtg Pauh

Helen: This is not the time to find fault and attribute blame. It is not just PKR‘s battle but Pakatan Rakyat’s as well. What you do may determine the future of Pakatan.

Anonymous_1371508752: In battle, your focus is on the enemy and not the shortcomings of your comrade. The strong lends strength to the weak and you fight as a team. Go get the job done and stop complaining.

Wira: The Chinese embraced Malay culture. Guess who pushed them back to being Chinese? It's Umno. They gave the Thais and the Portuguese descendants bumi status but not to the Baba/Nyonya? Tell me why? DAP cannot address Indian problems fully because Pakatan doesn't rule Putrajaya.

Flying Dayak: Despite its strong cry against the GST, DAP and PKR have failed to explain the on the average 16.7 percent water tariff hike for Penang beginning last month.

No BS Please: However bad Pakatan may be, it can never be half as bad as Umno and their stooges. At least Pakatan never stole from the Indians like in the case of the land given to an Indian school in Bandar Utama.

Dr Suresh Kumar Nalla Thambi: I know truth hurts, nevertheless it must be told. Pakatan has been taking the Indian electorate for a ride since the 12th general election and their Indian apple polisher reps couldn't care less.

This neglected Indian community in Permatang Pauh is yet another proof  among the many that I have pointed out with facts over the years. Instead of addressing the concern, we have some smart aleck going around writing articles and comments, twisting facts and blaming the Indian poor for Pakatan's own failures.

Indulge yourself with grilled lobsters while the poor eat ikan bilis if they can even afford that. Sigh!

Anonymous_1400076912: This is not a good sign. Pakatan must never assume that the votes are in their favour as many people can be easily swayed by money and goodies which BN is master at.

Pakatan partners must unite and persevere to claim Permatang Pauh in particular, so as to send a strong message to the BN government that the people abhor what they're doing to them. Great endurance and patience are needed so more power to you Pakatan!

Sinner: I hope "disorganised" doesn't mean giving more money away to the campaigners or the target voters. I would like to think that that is Barisan Nasional's culture and not Pakatan's.

Anti Sarkis: From the beginning, we know tat DAP, PKR and PAS cannot get along. Their cooperation is merely for elections. So, all the Malaysians must know Pakatan Rakyat's agenda. Let the new MP to serve the Permatang Pauh.

Kingfisher: PKR, PAS, DAP and all the other political parties are in the midst of a serious national debate on responsible governance persuaded by none other than a former prime minister.

One would have expected that Pakatan - as embodying the aspirations of a significant number of Malaysians towards such an objective - would have engaged strategies that could align with the common tide of sentiments more substantially rather than fall back on family and beholden rationale which would be unappealing to the general public at this juncture.

This is a lost opportunity without doubt and especially for PKR and PAS. The initiatives of the component partners in Pakatan could be seen as symptomatic of a "small-mindedness” not commensurate to the broader aspirations of all Malaysians.

BN on the other hand despite being blameworthy as some claim seems resolute as compared to Pakatan. The winner is...isn't it obvious?

Anticommunalist: If the Indians in Penang vote against Pakatan, it will reflect very poorly on the Penang state leadership in addressing Indian woes and problems in the state. It is as simple as that and do not try to beat around the bush and claim otherwise.

By trying to muddle the issue, Pakatan will be shooting itself in the foot for the coming GE that is less than three years away. Indian votes will deal a fatal blow to their pursuit of capturing Putrajaya.

If the Indian leaders in DAP cannot deliver then they must resign and let other groups to take over. Be responsible and accountable of your positions.

Cougar: We shall see - wins at both seats in Rompin and Permatang Pauh for BN will be seen as an endorsement of the leadership of Prime Minister Najib and acceptance of his policies e.g. GST, Pota.

JD Lovrenciear: DAP, PAS and PKR, you three have brilliantly supported Umno-BN. That is what the rakyat suspected all this while when they harped that Pakatan is a mere loose coalition that joined hands for what we call a 'convenience marriage of sorts' for their own selfish agenda.

It reflects your leadership too.

Sabahan: If this Pakatan leader is from DAP and is an ethnic Indian, I feel disappointed with his outburst. He should be cautioned by DAP. His job is to help in the campaign and not to find fault.

He does not have the competence to be a leader.
