A woman who had stripped herself after failing to pay for eating chicken rice, was today released from the Magistrate’s Court in Kuala Lumpur after her brother posted bail of RM7,000.
The 32-year-old Persana Avril Sollunda left the court complex under media scrutiny.
She was detained for a week following her failure to post bail after claiming trial to engaging in obscene behaviour.
Persana, who hails from Tuaran, Sabah, and who is also a part-time model, was charged with the offence at Jalan Petaling, Kuala Lumpur at about 2.07pm on April 23.
She was earlier brought to the Magistrate’s Court today where she maintained her plea of not guilty. If found guilty, she may face a maximum jail sentence of three months or fine or both.
Persana was represented by lawyer Muhammad Nor Izzat Nordin in today’s proceeding.
The Magistrate’s Court has fixed May 29 for the case to be mentioned.
