YOURSAY ‘Why the pol secs? They are doing what their bosses are doing.’

Ministers' aides rolling in cash, says Umno leader

RCZ: This Umno man is telling us things we knew long ago - that corruption reigns free in Malaysia and is nothing new.

The biggest heist of all, and under the watch of the PM no less, is 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB). Before Umno is removed, I am sure the aides and others are of the view they better make their monies fast.

That is why Umno should be destroyed totally and new leaders put in their place.

Oh Ya?: What, political secretaries cannot partake of the spoils but Umnoputras are taking direct from the public coffers and incurring huge debts for the rakyat to pay?

The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) actually needs not take so much trouble going across the South China Sea to catch ikan bilis, they can catch many crocodiles, big or small, effortlessly by just swimming across the Putrajaya lakes.

Pemerhati: This is a true story of an employee of a multinational company. Let’s call him John to protect his identity.

He was promised by the political secretary of a minister that his company would get the contract for the project his company had tendered for if he gave to the minister a few million ringgit through him.

John gave the political secretary the money but the contract was given to someone else. As a result, John lost his well-paid job.

What we do not know is from how many other people the political secretary allegedly collected money using this strategy and how much of that he kept and how much allegedly went to the minister.

Gaji Buta: Expect the standard reply from MACC - we need proof to act.

Whatsup: MACC, go get the sharks and whales instead of minnows. Don't waste time and resources over a pittance - just RM4 million. If these minnows could make this much money, imagine the astronomical amount the sharks and whales make.

Dont Just Talk: Malaysia is on auto-pilot with the 1MDB taking centre stage. It looks like it is a free-for-all and MACC is facing difficulties in coping with the many challenges ahead, more so, when all investigation papers have to be forwarded/vetted first by the top guy.

Even the aides of Umno Baru ministers are earning big bucks and living beyond their means, which MACC is too blind to see, deaf to hear and dumb to talk about it.

Never in the history of Malaysia has so many shameful scandals, with names connected to top Umno Baru leaders, which are causing concern among poor Malaysians, who are still struggling from the after-effect of the newly introduced Goods and Services Tax (GST).

P Dev Anand Pillai: The MACC is a joke. Its main aim for its existence is to threaten the opposition and anyone who is a threat to their political masters. So if you are an aide to the big cats, you can enjoy yourself.

AntaraBangsa: Thank you, Captain Obvious. But why stop at the aides? We should be looking at the ministers and their deputies as well. Chief among them...

Headhunter: Everyone knows about this. Try for example, to get approval for the construction of shophouses and commercial buildings through the proper channels and see if you can get anywhere by yourself.

No way, unless one is willing to foot tens of thousands of ringgit to grease the process. That's when these political touts come in handy.

Mosquitobrain: MACC has to get the 'green light' from higher-up prior taking any action if the 'suspect' is linked to BN. There are 'cables' everywhere.

It will become very ugly, messy and with many casualties. Moreover, MACC prefers a trouble-free life rather than to stir the hornets.

Anonymous #19098644: MACC, start with the rotting first family who have now allegedly gone international with their Ponzi scheme in neighbouring Thailand.

Then follow through with the families of the ministers whose children spend their time flaunting their wealth. Why catch the secretary level? After all, they are doing what their bosses are doing.

NX: It's known by everyone that these guys arrange the commissions for their bosses. Only the MACC is blur about this.

Former tax officials are allegedly helping organisations to slash taxes by incorporating loopholes and paying handsomely to Inland Revenue Board officials.

I guess corruption is legal in Umno's version of their religion.

Doc: Will MACC investigate this? Obviously not. But it will be interesting to to see what cockamamie reasoning they will cook up on why they cannot proceed with investigating these ministers’ aides.

Frankly, Najib should close down MACC as part of the government's cost-cutting measures. He can use MACC's budget to pay for 1MDB's next installment to the banks.

YF: Strange, they seem not to have fallen off a building with that high amount of corruption money.

It seems the higher the amount, the safer they are. Or is there something else missing from the equation?
