Mahathir wants Guan Eng to pack up like Najib
Jiminy Qrikert: As has always been the case, Umno will always demonise DAP and its leaders so that they continue to hoodwink the Malays about DAP.
Past leaders and current leaders of Umno are unrelenting in accusing DAP of being racist and anti-Malay.
They will readily shovel lies about the DAP government in Penang ranging from victimisation of Malays and Muslims to what Mahathir grandly claims as an 'antagonistic situation', a broad accusation without any explanation, evidence or credibility.
Vgeorgemy: Dr M has always been consistent in his statement on who should rule Malaysia. It is Umnoputras and those who accept ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ concept.
This is the main reason he has no issues with a Gerakan chief minister in Penang as they accept ‘Ketuanan Melayu’ and surrendered minority rights to Umnoputras.
He also doesn't like any smart, honest and hardworking non-Malay in politics as he strongly believes that Umnoputras can't compete with leaders of such quality.
Vijay47: When it comes to recognising and evaluating racism, it has to be acknowledged that nobody can hold a candle to Mahathir, who honed his skills before, during, and after his almost unending years as prime minister.
Penang CM Lim Guan Eng a racist? Maybe. Kindly let us know of some of the racist acts he implemented - two or three would suffice. One action of his related to race was that he defended a Malay girl and for his pains, he was rewarded with a long spell in jail.
Oh, I forgot, that young Malay girl, 15 years old then, was raped by one of your Umno Malacca leaders. I know, Mahathir, that in view of your advancing befuddled years, such little details may miss you.
As for your own contributions to racial harmony and goodwill, perhaps you could remind us of any leader in the whole world who in this day and age, would actually create a city devoted to a particular race.
You can't? Chalk it up to, yes, advancing befuddled years.
Mushiro: Mahathir could have got carried away by the high hits on his blogs and various websites which published his statements and comments.
These are mainly on public interest topics such as 1MDB, Altantuya, Goods and Services Tax (GST) and Najib's family’s lavish lifestyle.
As a matter of fact, these topics have been raised and successfully made aware by many Pakatan Rakyat leaders, NGOs and public interest groups.
Mahathir only seriously joined the fray recently but admittedly he has brought more interest to these issues. People are willing to team up even with the devil to bring down another devil.
But for Mahathir to assume that he has been accepted as a political guru is a little bit conceited. From the many negative comments Mahathir has received, it should be a reminder to him that people are very much aware of his dark era and have not forgiven him.
NewMalaysia: There is absolutely no need to be so work up, it’s just a political ploy by Dr M to cover his back in his war with Najib.
The opposition has been riding on Dr M’s attack on Najib and it’s time Dr M distance himself from the opposition.
He is aware that he can't be seen as helping or associating with the opposition, especially DAP, in his attack against Najib. It will be a great disadvantage to Dr M if Najib is to use this as a weapon to unite Umno and the Malays against Dr M, and accuse him of serving the interest of the opposition.
By calling for Lim Guan Eng’s (LGE) resignation, Dr M would also be able to hopefully drag DAP into this fight with Najib. Dr M doesn't want the opposition to stand and watch the Dr M-Najib fight on the sidelines and eventually capitalising on their downfall.
By dragging DAP into the fight, he would be able to kill two birds with one stone. Dr M knows DAP will be on the offensive when LGE is attacked, thus falling into his trap to clear his name and pushing DAP to Najib's camp.
Pemerhati: To an impartial observer, it would be shocking that BN won the last elections after getting only 47% of the vote and Pakatan Rakyat, which got 51% of the vote, is in the opposition.
This ridiculous state of affairs came about because of massive electoral fraud and gerrymandering carried out by the Election Commission which, like every other institution, such as the judiciary and the enforcement agencies, is controlled by the dictatorial Umno.
If the constituencies were fairly delineated and there was no electoral fraud, Pakatan would have won the last elections.
Then we would not have had the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) type of scandals and the various people responsible for the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu and the many top corrupt BN leaders would have been brought to trial.
Swipenter: I think there should be no PM and/or CM in Malaysia as long as Mahathir is still around. There should only be interim PM and/or CM. Maybe not even that.
Mahathir should be the caretaker PM of Bolehland until the end of his days as no one can do a better job than him. Until then, there should be no general election to pick the PM and CM.
