Rosmah and daughter in Parliament, too
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s family members created a buzz when they turned up in Parliament today when the premier tabled the 11th Malaysia Plan (11MP).
Najib’s wife, Rosmah Mansor, was photographed seated at the public gallery at the opposition MPs' side. She sat behind Kamarul Baharin Abbas (PKR-Teluk Kemang) to be exact.
Najib’s newly-married daughter, Nooryana Najwa Mohd Najib and her husband, Daniyar Kessikbayev, according to Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli, were also in attendance ( photo ).
Rafizi, who is PKR vice-president, uploaded a picture of the couple onto Twitter accompanied by a joke related to the government's controversial new jet purchase .
“Hahaha! This is the picture which Pakatan Rakyat MPs had forwarded. I don’t dare to ask as I’m worried I will be slammed.
“What more if I ask about the (government) jet,” he cheekily tweeted, in reference to the recent addition to the government’s jet fleet.
Oil price collapse
Nooryana and Daniyar had courted public attention with their lavish wedding ceremonies which was sarcastically dubbed by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad as the “wedding of the century”.
Rosmah, on the other hand, is always the target of criticism by the opposition for allegedly interfering in her husband’s administration affairs.
In unveiling the 11MP, Najib, who is also finance minister, said in the five years from 2016, the country’s economic development is expected to face more challenges due to the uncertain global economy.
This is mostly due to the collapse in global oil prices which in turn have hurt the country's revenue.
