Negri MB: Leave if you don't like the boss

If a person dislikes his or her boss, he or she is free to leave, said Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Mohamad Hasan.

This seems like a simple solution but Mohamad’s remarks speaks volumes in light of the revelation that cabinet members critical of 1MDB were reportedly told by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to resign .

In a 44-second video clip which was uploaded by MyKMU.net on its website and YouTube today, Mohamad said there were only two things in the world which a person cannot choose; one’s parents and one’s boss.

“If you don’t like your boss, it’s not your boss who has to leave, but you. So for those who work, like you, Nizam. if you don’t like me, you can resign.

“I don’t want you to drag your feet facing my face everyday. You may be cursing me all sorts of things,” he said. The Nizam mentioned here is likely to be one of his aides.

It is unclear, however, where or when the menteri besar had made the remarks.

Utusan Malaysia today reported Najib giving an ultimatum at the cabinet meeting last Friday, after Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah had presented the 1MDB restructuring plan.

Najib’s deputy, Muhyiddin Yassin ( photo ) who has, on several occasions, appeared to be at odds with his boss over the issue, was not present during the meeting.

Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein had conditionally agreed that cabinet members who disagree with the prime minister on the 1MDB issue should resign, while Culture and Tourism Minister Mohd Nazri Abdul Aziz denied that Najib had even issued an ultimatum to cabinet ministers over the 1MDB issue.
