PAS MUKTAMAR PAS' concept of ‘walak’ (loyalty) to leaders doesn't extend to Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat it seems.

This was apparent when Johor PAS Youth delegate Syafiq Aziz raised the matter only to be jeered by those attending the muktamar.

"We are ‘walak’ to certain leaders, all of us in this muktamar agreed to be ‘walak’ to the president, but for the Youth we are not ‘walak’ to the current Youth chief and leadership," he said in his policy debate.

Observers and delegates reacted by booing Syafiq.

This caused such a commotion that deputy permanent chairperson Ridhuan Mohd Noor had to call for calm.

Suhaizan's leadership of the Youth wing is being challenged by Nik Abduh ( photo ), the son of late PAS spiritual leader Nik Aziz Nik Mat.

It will be an uphill battle for the incumbent, as the Nik Abduh is aligned to the ulama faction which is expected to wipe out the pro-Pakatan leaders in the party.

Ballots for the Youth leadership were cast earlier this morning, and the results are expected to be announced by this evening.

Reprimand for Suhaizan

Meanwhile, delegates from Terengganu and Selangor reprimanded Suhaizan for not reciting Quranic verses correctly.

 
"Correct the way you recite the Quran before shouting about the fight. Don't take this lightly," Terengganu delegate Raja Arizal Raja Arif said.
 
However he did not mention which verse Suhaizan had recited incorrectly in his policy speech yesterday.
 
"If you mispronounce (Arabic words) that's fine, but if its Quranic verses, that's something very, very bad," Selangor delegate Mohd Zuhdi Mat Piah ( photo ) added.
 
Suhaizan's speech yesterday was riddled with mispronunciations, which the Youth chief laughed off, saying he was tired.
 
One mispronunciation cited by delegates was when Suhaizan accidentally said " orang bunian " (hidden people) instead of " orang budiman " (righteous men).
