PAS Youth at its annual muktamar today approved a motion to save the country from the BN-led government which it claimed has burdened the people financially, heightened racial polarisation and put the country on the brink of a financial crisis.

"Our country is facing crises that if not dealt with immediately, will surely have a (negative) impact on the country, the rakyat and future generations.

"As such we must act and with determination save the country from continued rule by BN led by Umno," PAS Youth treasurer Mohd Fakhrul Razi Mohd Mokhtar said when proposing the motion.

After much debate, which saw some delegates opposing the motion, it was finally approved after a standing vote showed the majority in favour.

"The PAS Youth Muktamar today motions that the mandate be returned to the people via the dissolution of parliament, so the people can evaluate and re-elect the government democratically.

"This is because the government lead by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is facing a confidence crisis that is at a maximum level," Fakhrul Razi said.

Besides increased ethnic tensions and the negative effects of the goods and services tax, the motion also cited 1MDB's burgeoning debts as reasons why the country needs saving.

It also said the faling share prices of Felda Global Ventures, and plumetting revenues of Koperasi Permodalan Felda would  negatively effect a huge segment of the population, that is the 1.5 million Felda settlers.
