A pig's head was reportedly been thrown early this morning into the house compound of Johor state exco member Mohd Jais Sarday.
Jais, who is Kluang Umno division head, said he was alerted to the incident at his Kluang residence at about 5.45am.
"By the time I rushed back from Johor Baru at 9.45am, police had removed the evidence, he said when contacted by Malaysiakini .
"I didn't see the thing myself so I have no idea what it is," he said, added he later lodged police report and gave a statement.
The Mahkota state assemblyperson said he was perplexed over the incident and its motive as he 'made no enemies'.
"I am just performing my duty as state assemblyperson and exco member for the people," said Jais who is also chairman of the state education, entrepreneur development and cooperatives committee.
Asked whether the incident had a political motive, he played down the matter saying: "Maybe this is just a prank."
DAP gets paint splashed
Johor CPO Rusli Ahmad confirmed police were investigating the incident.
"True, we are still verifying what this thing is," said the newly- promoted state police chief.
Meanwhile, both DAP Kluang MP Liew Chin Tong and Mengkibol state assemblyperson Tan Hong Pin condemned what they said was the thug political culture in Kluang.
Besides the incident at Jais's house, the Kluang DAP office was also splashed with paint today, they said.
The two incidents, they added, have given the impression that they were related to political rifts.
According to them, Kluang DAP secretary Pua Meng Jiann has lodged a police report on the paint-splashing incident.
"We hope the police will conduct an investigation swiftly and that those responsible be charged in court," they said.
