Minister lying about Jho Low's link to 1MDB
YOURSAY ‘Jho Low has more than enough glamour - if you want to call it that.’
Husni skirts Jho Low issue on live TV
Odin Tajué: Second Finance Minister Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah, it has already been stated by Sarawak Report that tycoon Jho Low owns Good Star, and PetroSaudi International (PSI) acted as a front for Good Star in the scam to siphon money from 1MDB and pay it into Good Star's account.
Question 1: Are you sure that PSI lodged a police report with the fraud division of the London police in denying the media reports or with the cyber division of the London police to complain about the Sarawak Report having allegedly hacked into their computer system?
Question 2: Why did 1MDB have to stump up the US$1 billion (for its supposed 40% equity in the joint venture) in the 1MDB-PSI joint venture when PSI had not even entered into a farming agreement with Buried Hill?
In other words, PSI had had no assets to inject into the joint venture. The asset would have been a concession or a right to work the concession formalised in a farmee agreement entered into between PSI and Buried Hill (the farmor) and signed.
Just a few months after receipt of the money from 1MDB, the joint venture was aborted. The termination of the joint venture is thus an aberration, and as it is so, it, naturally, raises suspicion.
Jho Low's name has cropped up often in this financial scandal as well as in private matters involving you-know-who. Answering questions related to him can in no way be an act of glamourising him.
Besides, he has more than enough glamour - if you want to call it that - already. Which brings us to the next question.
Question 3: Is the reason or is it not the reason that you are unwilling to answer questions relating to Jho Low is because he has been acting as a proxy for someone powerful in 1MDB to milk billions from the company (1MDB)?
Truth: If Husni is genuine, he can easily verify whether Good Star is linked to Jho Low. Just check the shareholders, etc.
At least do a search on the company. How can a person of such high ranking be so ignorant?
RCZ: We all knew where the money went - a large portion to Jho Low and/or to very, very strange companies. We can see how the next stage of this heist is going to be explained off.
The song that will be sung now is 1MDB doesn't know what was done with the money when they released it for so-called 'investment' to PetroSaudi and have no dealings with Good Star and Brazen Sky.
This is total bull because Jho Low was involved from the onset of the deal and there were lawyers and advisers.
The entire operation was planned for monies to disappear in this fashion and Jho Low and others thought they would never get caught. These Umno guys really know how to spin as Jho Low put it.
Anonymous #44199885: The situation indeed looks really bad. While 1MDB may not bring our economy down, the manner in which the government deals with public finances and investments is totally lacking in transparency.
The continued failure of all in government, including the BN MPs, in giving clear answers to very simple questions and the continued evasiveness of ministers in answering questions relating to transfer of funds to Jho Low’s companies, investments in hitherto unknown assets and unexplained investments in mining interests, does not inspire confidence in the public and investors in the ability of our government to grow our economy and safeguard our public finances.
Malaysians are afraid that our hard-earned savings and the future of our children may be doomed. Being truthful seems to be a difficult thing for our government, ministers and BN MPs to do.
Ryuujunri: I have not heard of companies changing auditors every three years. Which auditing standards is 1MDB following? You could imagine the hassle.
If not mistaken, listed companies in UK are encouraged to rotate auditors every 10 years. I’m wondering if the change of auditors is all in accordance with the said practice of some shorter cycle?
This is where we should ask why.
Blobfishface: Husni is just another ventriloquist dummy at best, or a typical Umno crony at worst. His arrogance and ability to lie without a twitch has been carefully groomed.
Not only that he comes across as hardcore jingoist when he says stupid things like: "When our people visited to perform umrah or haj, they will see the metro and can be proud that it was built by fellow Malays", not "fellow Malaysians".
So, he is just another "Malay first" type of maggoty bigot like DPM Muhyiddin Yassin?
JD Lovrenciear: It has taken the government so long to get to this stage of a live TV interview. And even at this late stage, there is still the attempt to distance itself from Jho Low dealings.
Ministers, you want to know the truth? Well, when the ringgit plunges, you better prepare for a deep plunge without safety harness. The public will never forgive the actors in this great drama of the century.
