YOURSAY 'There was no security threat whatsoever. Najib chickened out.'

After dialogue 'win', Dr M wants another go at PM

Truth: What happened to his Bugis blood and being a warrior ? It’s safer to stay at home?

An 89-year-old man (Dr Mahathir Mohamad) is a security threat to our PM, who is protected by bodyguards as well as PDRM (Royal Malaysian Police), etc?

Indeed, this is a joke of the century.

Rupert16: After all PM Najib Razak’s recent bravado and saying that his blood is no ordinary blood, we now know that his blood is indeed extraordinary. He has ‘chicken’ blood flowing through his veins.

Sirach: Round 1: TKO (technical knock out) for Mahathir. No, it was a walkover. The opponent was too petrified to turn up. The security risk was perhaps more illusory than real.

Skippy: And there I thought the PM would say he had a medical emergency. He's more clever - declaring a security emergency instead.

As for Dr M, how times have changed. The police are stopping him from addressing the crowd, imagine that. And all this at a 'Nothing to hide' forum. What’s next?

Pahatian: I was dead right about Mr Flip Flop. He will try to convince the dumb people that it's not that he wouldn't attend, but he couldn’t because of 'security' reasons.

The police have information that Islamic State (IS) terrorists are on the prowl to disrupt the event.

Abasir: A commenter said, "If Najib is ready to face Mahathir, do it on television so we can watch at home in peace."

Najib will jump at the opportunity, so long as it is broadcast only on Astro on a stormy night when the transmission is guaranteed to be interrupted. Then he can blame Allah.

SSDhaliwal: It looks like there is something to hide after all. He just got the IGP to bail him out by using the usual scare tactics.

Whatsup: What does one expect a behind-the-scenes wheeler dealer to do, have an open face-to-face confrontation with his opponents? He might not be clever, but surely he is not that stupid.

Citing kangkung, RM1 chicken and reading blindly from a script among others, are not the hallmarks of a right-thinking individual but of a lesser man.

Baiyuensheng: I think all this will not go down well - putting two injured egoistic tigers in a cage. It will do neither one any good. I sense an imminent crisis that will drown Malaysia, and its people suffer even more.

GI Joe: To be a fair, the opposition should be allowed to attend as well.

Najib should not fear anyone. The fact that it was cancelled when Mahathir appeared tells us that 1MDB indeed has got a lot of things to hide.

Ipoh PP: Just ask ourselves, what kept Najib away? Security threats, or fear of being questioned about 1MDB? You form your own conclusions. Mine is the PM is too scared to meet Mahathir.

Not Convinced: Mahathir is now stalking Najib. No more peaceful nights for Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor.

Twitter goes berserk on PM-Dr M pantomime

RCZ: Yesterday morning's affair and the PM hiding himself from a forum called 'Nothing To Hide' is the funniest thing that I have heard in a long time.

I haven't laughed so much, especially at Serdang MP Ong Kian Ming's tweet. This is the continuing antics of our PM. I couldn’t wait for the next exciting episode.

AkuMiskin: There was no security threat whatsoever. Najib chickened out. The inspector-general of police (IGP) made it sound like we are in lawless country where even the PM is not safe.

Anonymous_1419577444: "Can you imagine a warrior declaring war and not turning up for the first battle? LOL (laughing out loud) - this definitely takes the cake.

Real Truth: Did you observe the timeline of events? At 8.50am, Mahathir arrives at the venue. Then at 8.53am, the IGP tweets the forum should be cancelled.

Abasir: An IGP who cannot provide security for his PM is a useless IGP, an incompetent twit - a fake as much as the fellow who calls himself a Bugis warrior, a lance corporal masquerading as an IGP. How shameless and gutless.

GMK: In Sun Tzu's ‘Art of War’, the first of his 36 war tactics is “if you can't fight your enemy, run away as fast as though it is your last living day”. This must have been the advice of Najib's newly appointed adviser.

Onyourtoes: The PM was not happy that the forum was cancelled. Earlier, the PM was not happy that 1MDB executives did not turn up at the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) hearing.

Malaysians should be ashamed to depend on a 89-year-old man to set right what is blatantly wrong.

Neutral Stance: Today in history, we have two new warriors - Hang Kecoh (Dr M) and Hang Kecut (PM).
