Victory cookies now, bitter pill soon for ulama

YOURSAY ‘Mat Sabu, do not despair. PAS is not good enough for you.’

Mat Sabu scratches head over ‘odd votes’

NewMalaysia: Over the last couple of years, especially during the last general election (GE), Mohamad Sabu, affectionately known as Mat Sabu, has been one of the PAS leaders that has contributed the most to Pakatan Rakyat.

Working together with other Pakatan leaders in the electoral campaign, he was often seen in the ceramah throughout the country, working tirelessly to help the opposition to the extent that he even neglected his own constituency.

Although he lost in GE13, he has helped his coalition partners, especially DAP, in securing a lot of Malay votes.

I've seen opposition leaders Lim Guan Eng and Anwar Ibrahim doing the same, running tirelessly helping each other’s candidates in their campaigns, but I never saw that in other PAS leaders, especially Abdul Hadi Awang.

He only cares for his own agenda, and hardly contributed to Pakatan in the last GE. That's why despite contesting the most seats, PAS won the least. Their leaders like Hadi never bothered to step out of their own seats to help others win.

Korkor: PAS has become too big in the head after tasting victories in the last two GEs - 12 and 13 - but being so foolish as to claim that the victory was due to their power and might.

PAS will once again be the ‘kampung’ party and even Kelantan will fall into BN's hands.

Mat Sabu and the others should be bold enough to get out of this ungrateful party and move on together with PKR and DAP to form Pakatan Baru. We await your smart decisions, hopefully coming very soon.

Onyourtoes: Maybe the ulama can't count or are not as savvy as those in 1MDB.

This country is caught between the devil and the deep blue sea - the corrupt racists on one hand, and the equally nincompoop fanatics on the other.

Look, if everything is ‘heavenly’, why indulge in politics?

Ablastine: Mat Sabu, do not despair. PAS is not good enough for you and colleagues. This gang of ulama dudes knows nothing about honour, trust and justice, let alone be able to rule a small state.

They will together dig their own graves. I suggest you get out early and ditch them before they sink.

Frankly, the electorate in Malaysia now hates Hadi and gang in PAS more than they hate the Umno mafia so there is no way Hadi's PAS is going to make any headway in the next election.

At least Umno comes out in the open to fight you in the election, but PAS pretends to be your friend and when they have exploited you enough, they will stab you in the back when you are not looking.

They want to bring Malaysia back to the dark ages. How many people here are willing to see that happen or let them do it? I don't think even Umno will entertain PAS and their hudud dream once this has served its function in breaking up Pakatan.

Awang Top: The ulama faction can taste victory cookies now, wait till the next GE, they will swallow bitter pills.

Hadi denies new PAS leadership only ulama

Basically: Well, now that the war is over, the wounded hide their tails and dutifully crawl back in line. It's too bad, because whatever PAS does has no bearing on the voters' image of it anymore.

Now Hadi can say niceties about Pakatan or continue to blame DAP, but it won’t do a single thing to erase all the nonsense that the voters have witnessed.

They can stay in Pakatan, but they'll never get our votes. Go on, stand in my constituency, Hadi.

Justice Kini: It’s not about PAS. They are quite right-minded persons, and only some are extreme ulama.

The real problem is Hadi, but he won on the back of his personal hudud bill. To achieve the aim of passing the bill, he needs Umno’s support and he is even willing to form a unity government with them.

PasMa, now is the time to hit the highway to become an alternative to PAS and be a political party. Start right away to prepare for the 2018 GE.

Onyourtoes: Do we really care? The reality is that no one hates PAS or hudud. We only want to uphold the constitution and our way of life, including the Muslims.

On the contrary, it was the bigots who hate Christians, Chinese and non-Muslims in general. Any political party based on race and religion is a farting party, period.

See the baloney here - they even criticised others who tried to help the flood victims in Kelantan.

Mikey!: "In Kelantan, the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat was an ulama, but the non-Muslims still accepted him. So it (gaining the non-Muslims’ support) does not arise,” newly-elected vice-president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said.

To this I say, "You are no Nik Aziz, Amar."
