PAS delegates at their muktamar last week were praised by BN's Tanjung Karang MP Noh Omar today for voting out 'loud' and 'unruly' MPs from their central leadership in favour of what he termed as better elected representatives.

"I want to congratulate PAS delegates because they were smart in choosing which of their elected representatives are truly great.

"All the representatives who don't follow the rules, don't seem to understand (what they are told), so they all lost (in the PAS elections).

"The Pokok Sena (Mahfuz Omar), Shah Alam (Khalid Samad), Sepang (Hanipa Maidin) members don't follow the rules and lost," Noh told the Dewan Rakyat today.

"Look at Temerloh (Nasrudin Hassan), who is wassatiyah (moderate). Congratulations to Bukit Gantang (Idris Ahmad) for winning the (PAS) vice-presidency, (he is) polite and follows the rules," Noh said.

Noh was commenting on the recent PAS election s, during which most of the party's pro-Pakatan leaders were purged and replaced by those form the ulama (religious scholars) camp.

Noh said this while debating the 11th Malaysia Plan during which he chastised the opposition for being too critical of BN.

'Losers not grateful to party president'

He was then interrupted by Mahfuz who - for the second time today - ridiculed Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's no-show at a dialogue with NGOs on the 1MDB issue last Friday, prompting the Noh to poke back at Mahfuz's defeat in the PAS elections.

Noh ( photo ) said another reason why the progressives, especially Mahfuz, lost is because they were not grateful to PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang.

"You (Mahfuz) were appointed as party information chief, but were not thankful to the president (Hadi), which is why you lost," he said.

The Selangor Umno chief's praise for the PAS ulama comes at a time where the Islamist party is on the brink of breaking off with DAP, with the possibility of putting the Pakatan pact in shambles.

Meanwhile, Najib has said that Umno is willing to talk with PAS and work together on matters related to Muslims in Malaysia.

Coincidentally, Hadi and PAS Youth chief Nik Abduh Nik Aziz, were spotted together with Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, yesterday during a visit to the earthquake affected areas.
