As red flags are waved over the Selangor government's fate following the ongoing feud between DAP and PAS, Menteri Besar Azmin Ali has refused to be dragged into the issue.

All eyes are on the PKR deputy president on what is in store for the state, but when quizzed on the matter, he replied: "Don't push my hands into the childish game."

"The role of PKR is to strengthen Pakatan Rakyat and we must fulfil the aspiration of the people.

"We will choose what the rakyat want, this is my responsibility," the Bukit Antarabangsa assemblypersonn and Gombak MP told reporters in Parliament.

Playing down the animosity between DAP and PAS, Azmin described it as differences in opinion as opposed to an argument.

"Selangor government is strong and stable, so is Pakatan," he said.

"We will listen and discuss whatever views. So, we will go back to the drawing board and discuss," he added.

Earlier, Selangor PAS assemblyperson Saari Sungib ( photo ) warned that the Selangor government is headed for a crisis.

The Hulu Kelang representative said this is because the 13 PKR assemblypersons are undecided as to whether to back DAP or PAS.

PAS and DAP have 15 assemblypersons respectively.

However, Saari and PAS' Morib assemblyperson Hasnol Baharuddin are seen as rebels for not toeing the party line during the menteri besar crisis last year.

Exit with dignity

In a related development, former PKR leader Zaid Ibrahim ( photo ) tweeted it is "quite clear" that if Azmin has to choose, he would side with PAS.

"So DAP be prepared to exit with dignity in Selangor," he added.

Meanwhile, DAP Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng has been tagging the menteri besar in a series of tweets on articles related to DAP and PAS, urging Azmin to respond.

Last Friday, PAS passed a resolution to sever ties with DAP at the Islamic party’s annual meet or muktamar.

The decision came after the PAS polls witnessed the ulama or clerics vanquishing their pro-Pakatan opponents.

The ulama faction, led by PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, has been at loggerheads with DAP over the move to implement Islamic laws in Kelantan.
