Hello, PAS initiated the divorce, not DAP

YOURSAY ‘PAS' honour and integrity is at stake, not the other way around.’

Guan Eng should just sack us, says PAS man

Saphire: Selangor PAS Dewan Ulama secretary Muhammad Najhan Halim, do you have no pride or 'maruah'?

DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng has already advised PAS members holding posts in Penang to voluntarily quit. He is allowing them to resign honourably. If PAS members still have pride, they would do just that, like former PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu.

This is the problem of people like you, Najhan. You got carried away when you won the party elections, thinking that you are all high and mighty. Yes, sever ties with DAP, no need to worry of non-Muslim votes, was the thinking of the ulama.

Now, the first repercussion of your arrogance is the loss of many state posts. Next, I am sure is a total wipe-out of PAS candidates.

Remember this: ‘When you have, think of the days you don't have. But when you don't have, don't think of the days you have.’ Resigning from all state posts is the order of the day.

Justine Gow: No, PAS is the one which initiated the divorce, saying that it cannot live and work with DAP. So its members should be professional enough to step down on their own.

Now it looks like PAS is experiencing a dilemma similar to what Desiderius Erasmus had with women: "DAP, can't live with it, can't live without it."

Anonymous_1371859315: Convention requires that the appointees must resign and as such the challenge to axe never arises. It is PAS' honour and integrity that is at stake, not the other way around.

Anonymous$&@?: Just imagine that the Penang government is a business concern. You are the owner and you have staff who have sworn to cut off ties with your company and yet they still want to work in your company.

Would you trust these workers (whose loyalty is not with your company) to do what they have been told? Would they take orders from you or carry out your instructions?

If I were the owner I would be very afraid as these staff might sabotage my company by telling my competitors my strategy, as well as undermining my operations.

Based on this logic, I am sure many Malaysiakini readers would agree that the company has no other alternative but to sack these disloyal staff members.

Winding Up: Not very smart, these PAS ulama. First they failed to anticipate the consequences of cutting ties with DAP. Now they are greedily holding on to their Penang government positions and are even daring Guan Eng to sack them. I think their bluff should be called. Sack them!

Debater: They were elected on a Pakatan Rakyat ticket and a common platform of inclusiveness.

DAP appointed them in the government not in the name of DAP but in the name of the Pakatan alliance. It will be hypocrisy if they wanted to stay on and yet cannot work with DAP.

P Dev Anand Pillai: We seem to generate a lot of political idiots in our politics.

If Lim were to 'sack' PAS position holders, then he will suddenly become a ruthless Chinese leader for not respecting the Malays and for forgetting that this is 'Tanah Melayu'.

Come on PAS, don't think the world is as stupid as you would like us to be.

Quit first to see if Penang falls, PAS dared

StopMonkeying: Shame on you, PAS, for severing ties with DAP but clinging on to government positions. It is a party without self-respect or principles.

PAS hypocrites behave like children who disown the family, but want to continue to reap the benefits from the family. If there is still any credibility left, they should all resign en bloc since they are the ones who severed ties with DAP.

Ace: DAP (and PKR if applicable), no need to talk so much. The PAS leaders have exposed themselves to the rakyat who they are exactly. Let them do all the talking, chest-thumping and continue exposing themselves further.

All you need to do is to observe quietly and plan your future moves without letting the whole world know.

Boiling Mud: Are these exchanges going to stop? DAP should just carry on with business as usual and rise above the small-minded chest-thumping talk.

After the venerable Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat has passed on, what PAS actually represents is there for all to see. Tiresome, isn't it?

Ginie: To all DAP leaders, kindly stop this mudslinging in public with PAS. Not all new PAS leaders are bad. These PAS leaders need a little bit of space to breathe.

You had stated your points, so let them be. There is also no need to challenge them. Let's wait and see what their next move is.

Myop101: DAP, you don't need to keep challenging PAS to a fight. You already know PAS is now helmed by feeble leaders with weak moral standing so let them continue to give lame excuses to cover up their greed for power and money.

Ipohcrite: I will use two words to describe PAS' actions in its latest fiasco - principle-less and gutless.
