The ringgit continued yesterday’s upward momentum against the US dollar to open higher, lifted up by positive sentiment towards emerging currencies.

At 9.12am, the ringgit was higher against the greenback at 3.7300/7330 from 3.7325/7365 at 5pm yesterday.

Against other major currencies, the ringgit was traded mostly higher.

It appreciated against the Singapore dollar to 2.7739/7779 from 2.7780/7818 yesterday and strengthened versus the yen to 3.0323/0359 from 3.0425/0467 yesterday.

The local note improved vis-a-vis the euro to 4.2134/2175 from yesterday’s 4.2241/2293 but weakened against the pound to 5.7781/7847 from 5.7615/7688 previously.
