The government has reiterated that there will be no hike in electricity tariffs this year.

Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Dr Maximus Ongkili said this is despite a review of the Imbalance Cost Pass Through (ICPT) next month.

"If there is a hike, the government will absorb. We already decided there will be no hike in electricity tariff.

"Just wait until the review of the ICPT is completed next month," he told reporters after opening 'Karnival YaHijau' in Kuala Nerang today.

However, Ongkili urged the public to continue to save electricity and to avoid wastage.
