The federal government has allocated RM780 million to repair infrastructure damaged by floods which hit Kelantan last year.
Kelantan Post-Flood Joint Committee chairperson Mustapa Mohamed said the allocation included the repair of railway lines, schools, roads and bridges.
"We are grateful that some of the infrastructure including Pulau Beluru Bridge has been repaired," he told reporters after opening the RM670,000 bridge in Tumpat today.
Damage to the 60-metre bridge had isolated Pulau Beluru from Teluk Rejuna.
Mustapa said he would hold a meeting with the Kelantan state government to determine the number of flood victims still living in tents.
"About 50 people are still living in tents but we will review the list to ascertain the actual number."
The government also agreed to buy privately owned land to build houses for the flood victims, he added.
