Free Anwar – two petitions filed with UN, Parliament

PKR this week filed two petitions – one with the Malaysian Parliament and the other with the United Nations in its ongoing effort to free its de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim from imprisonment following a sodomy conviction.

Both Anwar's legal team and international human rights lawyer Jared Genser filed the UN petition with its Working Group on Arbitary Detention on Sunday, to requesting it to investigate Anwar's detention, said R Sivarasa (PKR-Subang) at the Parliament's lobby today.
