PARLIAMENT Seething over a protest held outside his residence in Ampang, Umno lawmaker Bung Moktar Radin warned "some may have died" if he was at home during the incident.

"A group of women from Ampang intruded into my home today. They were holding banners and shouting 'reformasi', among others.

"Police reports have been lodged, but what happens in the august house should be resolved here.

"Don't be insolent," he said during the debate on the Development Financial Institution (Amendment) Bill 2015.

Bung Moktar ( photo ) argued that the protest, organised in response to his 'sexist' remark towards PKR Wanita chief Zuraida Kamaruddin, was a form of harassment against his family.

"Nasib baik saya tidak ada. Kalau saya ada, mungkin ada yang mati di situ. Jangan cabar saya. (Luckily, I was not there. Had I been there, people may have died. Don't challenge me)," he thundered.

Citing Standing Order 36, Bung Moktar demanded that the Dewan Rakyat refer Zuraida to the rights and privileges committee for disciplinary action.

Following this, Hee Loi Sian (PKR-Petaling Jaya Selatan) stood up to protest against Bung Moktar's choice of words, leading to a shouting match.

"If you are jantan (man enough), what they did was biadap (insolent). I am angry because my house has been harassed [...] You shut up, bangsat (bastard).

"If you try (this stunt) again, (if) you intrude again, we see who is left alive," he warned.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia dismissed Bung Moktar's application after lecturing the lawmakers.

"Seven years I sit in the house, I listen to your debates whether I like it or not. Sometime I got very bored, but I still have to listen," he said.

In relation to this, he even quoted Tiong King Sing's (BN-Bintulu) pet phrase,  kong-kali-kong (only talk but no serious efforts to solve problems).

Attack continued

Following the incident, Bung Moktar called a press conference to continue his attack on Zuraida.

"I urge her to stop such things. I have followers too, (such action may causes them to) besiege her house. Scuffles may occur and it may become a big issue," he said.

He added his wife was at home when the group arrived and they even marched into the compound as the front gate of the house was taken down to allow renovation.

"I was shocked, this has never happened since I became MP."

When asked if he's willing to meet Zuraida ( photo ) he responded: "I will not meet Zuraida face to face. She is not qualified. Ramadan is coming, I will forgive Zuraida, but I will never forget."

According to Bung Moktar, he began to engage Zuraida after she criticised Rosmah Mansor, the wife of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, over her education programme Permata.

"She condemned Rosmah, I condemned her, and she was angry," he explained.

The Umno supreme council member also refused to apologise or retract his remark made in Parliament on June 9.

"That is not a sexist remark.  I help the 700 single mothers at my constituency," he said.

When asked about groups had protested at former Bersih co-chairman S. Ambiga's house, he asserted those protests related to national issues.

However Zuraida's protest was something personal. Thus, it was an uncivilised act, he held.
