Aug 10 hearing of suit against actor Zizan Razak
The suit filed against comedian and actor Zizan Razak by his former personal manager, Marina Juki, for alleged breach of agreement will be heard at the Civil Sessions Court in Kuala Lumpur beginning Aug 10.
Marina’s lawyer, Wan Nurliyana Abdul Rahman, told reporters today that Judge Hassan Abdul Ghani had set Aug 10, 11 and 13 for the hearing when the case came up before him last May 26.
She said the court also set Aug 3 for case management.
Marina, 31, filed the suit on Nov 5 last year, claiming that Zizan, 31, whose real name is Mohd Razizan Ab Razak, had breached a contract which they and Wire Fame Entertainment Sdn Bhd (Wire Fame) signed on may 3, 2011.
In the statement of claim, Marina stated that Zizan had appointed her as a personal manager and that under the four-year contract, which expired on May 2, 2015, she was to receive 15 percent of the income earned by Zizan.
She said that in May 2014, Astro disclosed that Zizan had come under its management on a contract worth RM2,000,000, without her and Wire Fame’s endorsement.
As such, she said, Zizan had breached the contract because his move to Astro was made before the expiry of the contract between them and Wire fame.
She is seeking special damages of RM535,500, general damages, interests, costs and other relief deemed fit by the court.
