The progress of efforts to sell off Tabung Haji’s (Pilgrims Fund Board or TH) controversial land at the Tun Razak Exchange (TRX) remains elusive.

The pilgrimage fund’s chairperson, Abdul Azeez Rahim, refused to entertain any questions today, besides that regarding the event he was at.

However, he did say Tabung Haji had good news coming soon, when met at Masjid Negara today.

Azeez ( right in photo ) was at the mosque to accompany Umno president Najib Abdul Razak who gave Zamzam water, dates, and cloth for Hari Raya clothes, to be distributed to the needy via Umno divisions nationwide.

Azeez’s lack of comment comes almost a week after Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Jamil Khir Baharom said Tabung Haji was still looking for the highest bidder for its land in TRX.

Najib had advised Tabung Haji to sell the land almost six weeks ago, after news of the land purchase caused an uproar among depositors, due to TRX being owned by debt-ridden 1MDB.
