Onus is on 1MDB to prove info doctored

No bail, Justo to face trial in Thailand
NewMalaysia:
How ridiculous. First, PetroSaudi International accused former director Xavier Andre Justo of blackmailing them with stolen confidential information.
But then, PetroSaudi claimed that those leaked information has been tampered with and therefore false. But I really failed to understand how PetroSaudi could have sent a representative to meet Justo in Bangkok if they claimed he has leaked stolen information that is false.
It is akin to accusing someone of robbing with a fake gun and yet the victim is willing to pay the robber despite knowing that the gun is a fake.
Secondly, if those leaked information is fake and has been tampered with, why not PetroSaudi just counter it by showing the original and genuine documents to prove otherwise? Or point out which part of the leaked information is not true.
Thirdly, why would PetroSaudi pay RM15 million compensation to Justo for leaving the company in the first place? To shut his mouth? This episode only strengthens my belief that the leaked information is indeed true.
Iiiizzzziiii: Talk about coincidence or just pure luck. One thing that sticks out like a sore thumb is the timing of the events. Najib has assured many that 1MDB woes will be resolved in six months’ time.
A vehicle touted to be the harbinger of development and transformation propelling Malaysia into a high-income nation, 1MDB has become a victim of its own delusion of grandeur.
What better way than to discredit the whistleblower. And why is the government so quick to jump to conclusion and issue warnings to all 1MDB critics? The statement "tampered with" is very vague.
There have been so many incidences which the government has turned a blind eye, so why the urgency now? 1MDB has become a very high-profile case internationally, and a wrong move by the local authorities can bring down the entire government of the day.
Rick Teo: The show has just begun. PetroSaudi will regret making the arrest of Justo.
He will now sing like a canary exposing all the secret deals that transpired between PetroSaudi and Good Star, and how the money eventually was allegedly passed on to PM’s wife Rosmah Mansor's son, Riza Aziz.
Meh: How pathetic. All Umno could do now is to say the emails are tempered. They are not interested in the substance of the various deals, which are all audited and documented.
Like for example, 1MDB parting away with billions of hard cash and ending up only with pieces of paper whose market value is ‘level 3'.
Or like 1MDB overpaying Genting but getting back huge donations, which is nothing more than corruption. These are not important to Umno. But killing the whistleblower is.
Sleepy: The issue is 1MDB, not Justo. My point is, what if Justo says "everything in the emails have been tampered and false" after given "compensation", does that mean 1MDB was wrongly accused. I don't think so.
Pua: Shafee should tell PM to take leave instead
Kim Quek: I would love to see how senior lawyer Muhammad Shafee Abdullah would answer to this unsparing statement from Tony Pua, though I expect him to keep his silence in stupor - without the slightest feeling of shame, as usual.
Imagine the BN government has engaged such a shameless cat’s paw of Umno to prosecute Anwar Ibrahim who is Umno’s most feared political enemy, and the courts have overruled Anwar’s objection to Shafee as prosecutor all the way to the highest court.
This fact alone is sufficient to render the conviction of Anwar a heinous transgression of justice, and exposed the Malaysian courts to the world as nothing but political henchmen for the ruling power.
Kingfisher: The moral imperatives are different of course. Shafee and BN Backbenchers Club chairperson Shahrir Abdul Samad have different benchmarks, it would seem.
Then again as it appears in this scandalous 1MDB, moral imperatives seem to have taken a back seat for those alleged.
Mosquitobrain: This is what will happen when you're in the complacency mode for too long. They've taken things for granted and are now afraid of their own shadows.
Umno cronies are clearly running scared. They're all in the same gravy train and will try all tricks save their skin.
Anonymous_1426565266: Thank you Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua, for upholding political transparency and righteousness by conducting thorough and intensive investigation.
Shame on all the law enforcers who fail to perform their duties diligently but depend on him to do the dirty work on their behalf.
When there is potential proof of mismanagement of public funds, these people not only do not take immediate action against the suspects, but instead suggest that Pua should step down. How ridiculous.
And you mentioned Pua’s withdrawal would enhance public's confidence? Seriously? You insult public's intelligence yet again.
