Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and wife Rosmah Mansor have been urged to persevere in facing the attacks and allegations made by various quarters against them, said Cheras Umno division chief Syed Ali Alhabshee.

He held that such attacks on a leader are to be expected, as there are always dissatisfied people.

He said although a lot of things had been done by Najib and the government for the people, it could not prevent the PM and his wife from facing such slander.

"I asked Datin Seri (Rosmah) to persevere. If we persevere and be strong, Allah will be with us.

"Let others criticise. Those who criticise do not see themselves when criticising others. I ask Rosmah and Najib to persevere as Allah will bless what we do,"Syed Ali ( photo ) said today at a Hari Raya event in the Cheras parliamentary constituency.

Gifts and zakat (tithe) were presented by Rosmah today to 700 people, including the poor, single mothers, orphans and the disabled.

They each received RM100 each as well as food and items for their daily needs.

Syed Ali said this was an annual event as Hari Raya Aidilfitri approaches and was to lessen the burden faced by the less fortunate in celebrating the festivities next month.
