PAS spiritual leader Haron Din said that the party’s syura council will only discuss the motion to sever ties with DAP after Raya, once its members have been appointed.

"We need to appoint all the syura members first. All of this have not been discussed because it's too new but I am confident that a meeting will be held before Raya," he said at a breaking fast event in Putrajaya today.

Even though the motion to cut ties with DAP was passed without debate at the 61st PAS muktamar in early June, Haron pointed out that it is not final until it gets a nod from the syura council.

"But DAP treated it like it is final and they have declared Pakatan Rakyat over without any effort to stop (the severing of ties)," he said.

The day after the passing of the motion, DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang declared that Pakatan is dead .

Haron reminded that the motion came as a result of DAP cutting ties with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang even before the PAS muktamar.

However, PAS Dewan Ulama information chief Mohd Khairuddin Aman Razali Al-Takiri, who attended the same event, later said he doesn't expect the decision to be finalised that soon.

"It will most likely be after Raya," Mohd Khairuddin said, although he did admit that the actual date has not been set yet.
