Penang PAS is not too pleased with Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng for describing the party as an "enemy" of the state government.
Lim, who is also DAP secretary-general, said this when PAS state chief Fauzi Mohd Yusof announced the party plans to sue the state government for sacking its members, to defend their dignity.
The party's state information chief Yusni Mat Piah said Lim ought to "take a look in the mirror" before making such claims.
"Lim is seen as purposely trying to attack PAS when describing PAS as an enemy, just because the party wants to sue the state government for sacking its members," Yusni ( photo ) said in a press statement.
"It is a very immature, prejudicial, provocative and unprofessional accusation. What is Lim's excuse for labelling PAS as an enemy?" he asked.
Yusni queried whether PAS had suddenly become a foe just because the party was firm in wanting to drag Lim to court.
He said it was unfortunate for Lim to treat PAS this way when the public sees the sacking of the party members from state positions as "too extreme".
"The truth remains that Lim terminated our members because he was too hasty in interpreting the motion (proposed by the ulama council to sever ties with DAP) at the recent PAS 61st muktamar.
"If he understood the motion, Lim would not be hasty nor would he fumble when acting against PAS members who are still working with the state government," Yusni stressed.
Not finalised as yet
Yusni explained that the party's ulama council, which is the highest decision maker in the party, has yet to finalise the proposal to cut ties with DAP.
Following the PAS delegates’ endorsement of the proposal to cut ties with DAP, Lim declared that Pakatan was dead.
As a result, five PAS leaders including former deputy chief Mohamed Sabu ( photo ) and Parit Buntar MP Mujahid Yusof Rawa resigned from their various state posts.
On Jul 12, the state secretariat issued former state PAS secretary Mohd Fadzil Kemi a termination letter from the post of information officer in Lim's department.
Mohd Fadzil, who is now PAS state deputy commissioner, will initiate legal action against Lim after the hari raya celebration.
