Former PAS spiritual leader Nik Abduh Aziz Nik Mat's final words were a plea for the party to not cut ties with DAP unless the latter wanted to.

This was according to his son Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz, who is now the PAS Youth chief.

"He reminded me that not to cut ties with DAP unless they made decision to cut ties with PAS," he said as reported by Bernama yesterday.

"Thus, I have faith in what I believe and I share my fathers's will, as I was the closest person to him."

Last Saturday, the PAS syura council had consented to a proposal by the PAS annual delegates meeting (muktamar) to cut ties with DAP and maintain ties with PKR.

To formalise matters, the PAS central committee would have to execute the decision. The central committee is expected to meet after Hari Raya.

DAP has not officially said it would cut ties with PAS, but had accepted the muktamar decision and that the matter was fait accompli .

Crisis will be resolved

Hence, the DAP-led Penang government had moved to remove all PAS members holding government appointed positions.

Meanwhile, Nik Mohamad Abduh said he will respect the decision of any PAS members who chose to join the newly formed entity known as Gerakan Harapan Baru or DAP.

"But to those who had still confuse and hope to be granted more time... look, listen and think (for yourself). I advise them to committed to PAS," he said.

He was confident that the PAS's leadership can solve the crisis faced by the party soon.

"I have faith in the new leadership that it will solve the issue calmly.

"They will not take drastic action against the members who were abrasive with the leadership despite them made a lot of strange decisions," he said.
