PAS central committee member Zaharuddin Mohamad today blasted PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli as "kurang ajar" (insolent) for supporting Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB).

Zaharuddin, who is PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's son-in-law, said Rafizi should not have made such a statement, since GHB was trying to court PAS members to defect.

GHB is a group comprising progressive PAS leaders who are mulling to set up a new party after conservative hardliners ousted them from the PAS leadership at the Islamist party’s leadership elections early last month.

"Rafizi should not interfere in PAS matters. Rafizi jumped the gun, akin to urinating before reaching the toilet.

"As long as (those in) GHB have yet to officially exit PAS, I take Rafizi's statement as an insolent interference," Zaharuddin said in his Facebook posting today.

Yesterday, Rafizi expressed support for GHB and announced that he would take part in roadshows organised by GHB.
