Singapore's Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Chan Chun Sing and Minister for Social and Family Development Tan Chuan-Jin attended the Aidilfitri open house hosted by the Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Almarhum Sultan Iskandar, yesterday at the Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Baru. 
 
The Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement that Chan and Tan and their spouses had an audience with Sultan Ibrahim and the Permaisuri of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Almarhum Sultan Idris Shah. 
 
They were also hosted to lunch by the sultan and the Permaisuri Johor, and were joined at lunch by the sultan’s family and members of the Johor state executive council. 
 
"Our ministers conveyed Hari Raya greetings and reaffirmed the warm ties between the people of Singapore and Johor," the statement said.
 
The visit underlined the close relationship between the two territories as Johor rapidly develops its southern region next to Singapore.
