The Seremban High Court today postponed the hearing on the case of Lenggeng assemblyperson Ishak Ismail to set aside the bankruptcy declaration against him.

Counsel for Ishak, CS Murtti said Justice Kamaludin Md Said, who heard the application in his chambers, postponed the case to July 31.

“The postponement is for case management because the court wants to see whether any settlement can be reached by both parties or otherwise,” he told reporters when met outside the court.

He said the postponement was granted after the judge considered the agreement given by businessman Misran Sukadi to enable the case to be settled outside the court.

Murtti said the judge also allowed the suspension of the bankruptcy order against Ishak, 64, made by the court’s Assistant Senior Registrar on March 18 after he failed to repay the RM2 million loan given by Misran.
