A man from Perak detained for posting seditious remarks on Facebook under the name "Papagomo Original" has been re-arrested, this time for allegedly posting racist comments on Twitter .

Syed Ahmad Saifullah, 26, was arrested on Wednesday. He was re-arrested yesterday after his remand order expired.

His lawyers claim that Syed Ahmad was a victim of mistaken identity.

"This is a roadshow. They are abusing the remand process," said lawyer Michelle Yesudas, after representing Syed Ahmad during the remand hearing today.

Magistrate Sara Zuriati Zaharifuddin granted a fresh three-day remand order.

The "Papagomo Original" Facebook page was created on July 15, the day the police announced the arrest of Wan Muhammad Azri Wan Deris, better known by his pen name Papagomo .

This Facebook page quickly drew thousands of followers and was updated multiple times daily until July 22, when Syed Ahmad was arrested. There has been no new updates on the page since.

Most of the content on the "Papagomo Original" Facebook page involved the riot within the vicinity of Low Yat Plaza on July 12.

According to Syed Ahmad's lawyer, another person was arrested earlier and the police claimed that the duo were working together to operate the Facebook and Twitter accounts.

However, Syed Ahmad denied knowing the other suspect, said his lawyer.
