As temperatures rise on the Umno front today over ousted deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin, the Johor sultan has summoned the state leader for an audience.

 

Sultan Ibrahim Iskandar instructed the Umno deputy president to appear before him at his Istana Bukit Serene in Johor Bahru this afternoon.

The former state menteri besar and the sultan were expected to discuss the events related to his sacking last Tuesday.

 

Muhyiddin, who officiated the high octane Kluang division annual general meeting (AGM) in Johor today, is also expected to meet NGO members in Senai close to the southern state capital this evening.

Muhyiddin entered the palace along with his wife Norainee Abdul Rahman, and met with the Sultan and Crown Prince Tengku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim and Johor Menteri Besar Khaled Noordin for about one hour.

The Umno deputy was seen coming out of the palace at 4.35pm waving to the gathering journalists outside the gate.

Behind him, Tengku Ismail also left in his blue and silver Rolls Royce Phantom.
