MH370 The Australian chief of the team searching the Indian Ocean for MH370 says confirmation that the wreckage found on Reunion is from the missing plane boosts confidence they are looking in the right area.

“We are confident that we are looking in the right area and we'll find the aircraft there,” Australian Transport Safety Bureau chief commissioner Martin Dolan tells ABC Radio this morning.

Dolan says an Australian investigator has joined the team of experts in France examining the flaperon and he hopes it could reveal clues to what happened to the flight and how it went down.

Two vessels using underwater sonar looking for the plane on the seabed in the southern Indian Ocean have covered half the 120,000 square kilometre search area.
