Former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad said that the reinstatement of two MACC officials was the only good news he has heard in a while.

He said that MACC should now be able to continue their investigation on SRC International Sdn Bhd and the RM2.6 billion "donation" to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"This is the only positive thing I heard so far. But if they are transferred back, are they gonna call Najib (for questioning)? Because before this MACC are saying they will call Najib to explain the RM2.6 billion donation.

"I hope that these two people will call Najib and ask him about it," he told a reporters in Kuala Lumpur today.

Two MACC officers - special operations division director Bahri Mohamad Zin and strategic communications director Rohaizad Yaakob - were given sudden transfer notices last Friday.

They were assigned to the Prime Minister's Department. After much outcry over the weekend, Chief Secretary to the Government Ali Hamsa reversed the decision.

This sudden transfer was the latest setback faced by the MACC, who are investigating SRC International Sdn Bhd and the RM2.6 "donation" received by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Previously, several MACC personnel were detained for questioning by the police for allegedly leaking a charge sheet which named Najib.
