Gerakan Harapan Baharu (GHB) chairperson Mohamad Sabu will send his representative to meet with a son of the former PAS spiritual leader, the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, who is said to be joining the movement in the near future.

Mohamad said for the moment he had no information regarding the intention of Nik Omar, the second son of the former Kelantan menteri besar.

“We (GHB) will check and our friends will make a confirmation and meet with him,” he said when approached by reporters after the launching of GHB Selangor in Shah Alam last night.

Mohamad disclosed this when asked to comment on the speculation that Nik Omar would be joining the GHB.

However, media reports today quoted Nik Omar as denying the claim which was widely carried in the social website following the publication of his photograph together with Kelantan GHB chairperson Wan Abdul Rahim Wan Abdullah at one function.

Mohamad said GHB adopted an open attitude in receiving anyone into the movement including PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and members of the PAS ulama council.
