Hulu Langat leaders latest to quit PAS posts
More and more Selangor PAS leaders continue to resign from their posts with the latest being leaders from the Hulu Langat PAS Youth division.
Hulu Langat PAS Youth chief Mohd Burhanuddin Othman said he, together with nine other committee members, had handed over their resignation letters to the Hulu Langat PAS' assistant secretary.
"We believe this is the best solution to the conflict that is happening, due to the effects of the aggressive campaigning during the party's muktamar.
"We hope that we will be given the strength to persevere in this fight regardless of the platform," he said in a statement today.
Burhanuddin. However, expressed hope that their ties with PAS members would remain although they may have different views and approaches.
The latest move by Hulu Langat PAS Youth comes after PAS Shah Alam division leaders announced they had quit their posts yesterday.
And on Wednesday, roughly 400 PAS members and leaders from the Kota Raja, Kapar and Klang PAS divisions in Selangor announced their resignations pending their eventual move to the breakaway initiative, Gerakan Harapan Baru (GHB).
Meanwhile, GHB secretary Dzulkefly Ahmad ( photo ) welcomed the move by the various leaders who had resigned from PAS to show solidarity with the leadership of GHB.
Replace Umno-BN
"Although they haven't been registered, these individuals were determined to resign and have started to focus on the management of the new party, set to be formed by us at the end of this month," he said in a statement today.
Dzulkefly said these individuals, together with GHB national leaders, would work towards forming Pakatan Rakyat 2.0.
"(This is) to strengthen the country's two-party system and at the same time to replace the Umno-BN goventment which is at the end of its life-span with its internal conflict and failure to administer the country," he said.
