Some 13 central and Selangor PKR Youth (AMK) leaders and activists have been summoned by the police to give their statements regarding its AMK Merdeka Bersih 4 convoy, which took place on Sunday.

“Today seven of us from AMK were called by the police to assist investigations regarding a convoy.

“We have given our cooperation and the police will complete their investigation,” AMK deputy chief Mohd Radzlan Jalaludin told reporters today after giving his own statement at the Shah Alam police district headquarters.

They arrived at 2.30pm and only left after about two hours of questioning.

Meanwhile outside the police headquarters, some 30 AMK members were present to show support.

On Sunday, the convoy was held in Shah Alam and it ended its journey at PKR’s headquarters in Petaling Jaya.

Some 23 vehicles took part in the convoy to promote the Bersih 4 rally, which is slated to be held on Aug 29 and 30 in Kuala Lumpur.

The six others who gave their statements were AMK vice chief Sangeetha Jayakumar, exco member and PJ Utara division chief Anwar Nekhan, exco member and Tanjung Karang division deputy chief Tharmendtran Periannan, exco member and Shah Alam division chief Afzanizam Rahman, exco member and PJ Selatan division chief Ridhuan Basri and secretariat member Daing Mohd Reduan.

Another four to give statements

Meanwhile, another four AMK members were at the Ampang Jaya police district headquarters to give their statements for the same investigation.

The four are Pandan AMK division secretary-general Harith Razlan Razali, and three Pandan AMK members Nurul Azrin Zainoldin, Muhammad Sodiqul Masduq and Shahbani Ikhsan.

Klang AMK division chief Mohd Farazi Mohd Shah gave his statement at the Klang Utara police district headquarters yesterday, while Shah Alam AMK division vice chief RT Saravannan at the local police district headquarters earlier this morning.

Mohd Radzlan also told reporters that AMK is mobilising over 10,000 of its members to join Bersih 4 at the end of the month.

“We have already prepared over 500 AMK Malaysia members to maintain security and order on the day of the rally.

“We have given orders to AMK members throughout the country and so far 10,000 AMK members will be joining,” he said.
