Air quality improves slightly in Seri Manjung, Perak

The air quality in Seri Manjung, Perak has improved slightly, from an Air Pollutants Index (API) reading of 101 at 11am today to 99 at 5pm. The former comes under the unhealthy level while the new reading comes under the moderate level.

According to the Department of Environment website, the API readings at 5pm for Universiti Sains Malaysia was 97, Bakar Arang (96), Seberang Jaya 2, Samarahan and Batu Muda (92), Port Klang (91) and Sekolah Kebangsaan Jalan Pegoh, Ipoh and Shah Alam (90).

Putrajaya and Jalan Tasek, Ipoh had APIs of 86, Cheras (85), Banting, Kuala Selangor and Petaling Jaya (84), Kampung Air Putih, Taiping and Perai (83), Kuching (78), Nilai and Sri Aman (77), Seremban (75), Muar (73), Larkin Lama and Bukit Rambai (72).

Moderate air quality was also recorded in Langkawi, Alor Setar and Port Dickson (71), Pasir Gudang (70), Malacca City (69), Jerantut (67), Balok Baru and Sarikei (65), Kuala Terengganu (61), Kangar (60), Sibu (59), Keningau (58), and Tawau (56).

Labuan and Bintulu (55), Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tanjung Chat, Kota Baru (54), Tanah Merah (53), Sandakan (52) and Tanjung Malim (51).

An API reading of zero to 50 indicates good air quality; 51 to 100, moderate; 101 to 200, unhealthy; 201 to 300, very unhealthy and over 301, hazardous.
