Spad appoints new CEO
The Land Public Transport Commission (Spad) has appointed Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah as chief executive officer (CEO) effective today to replace his predecessor Mohd Nur Ismail Mohamed Kamal.
In a statement, Spad said prior to the appointment, Azharuddin was the director of Greater KL/Klang Valley and Urban Transport in the Performance Management & Delivery Unit, a unit under the Prime Minister’s Department.
“In his new role, Azharuddin’s immediate responsibilities will include accelerating the growth of a viable land public transport (LPT) ecosystem as envisaged in the National Land Public Transport Master Plan,” it said.
Spad chairperson Syed Hamid Albar said Azharuddin’s credentials and experience in the LPT sector, made him the right leader as Spad geared up to drive more people-centric mobility and connectivity.
Meanwhile, Mohd Nur Ismail, who had been the CEO since the inception of the commission in 2010, will be the CEO of myHSR Corp, a government-backed project delivery company, to manage the KL-Singapore high-speed rail link project.
