Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor said Anina Saadudin whom he sacked from the party can go ahead and sue him.

This was after Anina threatened to take Tengku Adnan to court if he did not reverse her termination from the party.

Tengku Adnan had announced her automatic expulsion after she filed a lawsuit against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on grounds of allegedly trying to recover US$650 million out of the US$681 million in his personal bank accounts, said to be money which belongs to the party.

"She can sue me; just sue me, I will accept it," he told journalists in Putrajaya today.

Tengku Adnan, who is also federal territories minister, warned that any Umno member who followed Anina's footsteps will suffer a similar fate.

"Whoever who does the same (as Anina), I will take action.

"I will sack them immediately without the need to refer to the disciplinary board or Umno supreme council, as I have such powers as secretary-general of the party," he said.

Like termites

Tengku Adnan said Umno was now faced with three kinds of members - one who wanted to fight for the party, another who fought for themselves, and the worst among them - those out to wreck the party.

"I don't know which category Anina falls under, perhaps in the category of those wanting to destroy Umno; (they are) similar to termites and enemies within," he said.

Anina had filed the lawsuit on Aug 28 after Sarawak Report claimed that US$650 million of the U$681 million mysteriously deposited into Najib's personal bank accounts was remitted overseas.

Najib had denied taking public funds for personal gain while his supporters claimed the money was a "political donation" for Umno.

This prompted Anina to sue Najib to recover the funds, stating that there was no record of the money in the party's accounts.
