DAP has opted to stay with the Selangor government, even though PKR is adamant on working with PAS, says its secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.
Lim said the move was to prevent PAS from introducing policies which were not suitable for Selangor residents.
He said if DAP withdrew from the Selangor government, PAS might introduce policies such as a prohibition on alcohol sales.
"Our stand is clear. It is the right of PKR to work with PAS.
"However, we have to admit that DAP's position in the Selangor government is slightly affected," he told reporters after attending a Coffeeshop Forum and Registration of New Voters campaign organised by the Johor Jaya Community Centre in Taman Molek today.
Lim was commenting on PKR's stand to retain PAS in the opposition coalition and DAP's position in the Selangor state government.
Also present were Johor DAP chairperson Liew Chin Tong and Johor Jaya assemblyperson Liow Cai Tung.
