YOURSAY ‘Why waste taxpayers’ money by going overseas to interview them?’

MACC to quiz Jho Low, two others overseas

Bystander: Is Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission insinuating that the police cannot even guarantee the safety of tycoon Jho Low, along with SRC International managing director Nik Faisal Ariff Nik Othman Kamil and the firm's director Suboh Mohd Yassin if they come back to assist MACC in their investigation?

If we cannot even guarantee safety to such important witnesses, then tourists must feel very insecure to step onto our shore. What chances would they have?

Quigonbond: It sounds like they (MACC) don't trust the inspector-general of police to protect the witnesses.

If the IGP has any pride, he should tell MACC that he personally guarantee their safety. That'll save taxpayers' money too.

It's not like Jho Low is buying MACC flight tickets, provide hotel rooms and free meals. That would be so wrong.

RM2.6billion Duit Haram: It is funny that anyone related to 1MDB has security concerns. Even PM Najib Razak had to avoid the ‘Nothing to Hide’ forum due to security concerns.

Truly, if they have nothing to hide, there shouldn’t be any worry of a security threat to them.

After seemingly benefitting so much from 1MDB, they should be patriotic enough to come back to help the authorities. Shame on them.

Domcr2001: Warrants of arrest should already be issued when they failed to show up for the interview with MACC in Malaysia.

Why are they extended the special privilege with an MACC officer going to the country they are residing to interview them?

What special goon are they to call for this privilege? And in the end, they will say they are clean and not involved in the scandal in any way.

Anonymous_1371464888: Why waste taxpayers’ money by going overseas to interview them? Issue them a warrant of arrest.

If they don't respond, use the Interpol like the police did to Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown. I am sure by now the authorities are very familiar with the Interpol process.

If they still can't get them back, revoke their Malaysian passports. Immigration, too, is very familiar with travel bans, after having barred Petaling Jaya Utara MP Tony Pua from traveling.

Anonymous_1423808262: Don't fall into Low's tricks in Taiwan. That man will try to settle the matter with the MACC investigators by offering pretty girls and plenty of cash.

If that doesn't work out, he may get some Taiwanese gangsters to help him out. Take all precautionary measures. It’s best to handcuff him and bring him back to Kuala Lumpur.

Anonymous_1423808262: MACC director of investigations Azam Baki, please bring a few handcuffs, stun guns, gunny sacks and few Nepalese Gurkhas from Jalan Kilang to help you bundle these alleged criminals into a waiting Airasia Airbus (with engine running) and bring them home to face justice.

Anonymous #40538199: I hope the MACC would not forget that they have recently prayed for God's guidance or intervention.

Anonymous #03815719: Anonymous #40538199, you don't required God's intervention and guidance, if one carries out their work without fear or favour.

When you carry out your duties without fear or favour, the Almighty God will always protect you.

Peacemaker: Expect the MACC not to interview these three men for anything that even remotely resembles evidence.

The commission is pulling just another fast one on gullible Malaysians. Tell them to talk about it after they have got the job done successfully.

Joe Lee: Low would likely be speaking to PM Najib Abdul Razak and his wife Rosmah Mansor first - the trio needs to work out a strategy to dress up a cock and bull story for MACC.

Remember, the MACC still reports to the boss, who is none other than Najib. But MACC is also feeling the heat from the public. So what gives?

The worst-case scenario for Low is to be found guilty in Malaysia. Taiwan does have an extradition agreement with Malaysia, so he just won't come back.

Mosquitobrain: Former Special Branch Deputy Director Abdul Hamid Bador, has said it loud and clear: There are efforts to hide key witnesses by the higher-ups.

MACC, why waste our resources and funds?

Kookie: Did that farcical show of the removal of MACC staff change your mind about the integrity of MACC? Think again. Hell will freeze over before there are once again worthy of my trust.

Devon: Since the MACC has been emasculated by Najib, this is just an excuse for an all-expense-paid trip overseas.

They are naming as many countries as possible for this reason. Can I join the MACC?
