Police have arrested a 27-year-old man for committing a “rash act” after he took a stroll on the track while cars zipped by during the Singapore Formula One Grand Prix, local media reported in the early hours of today.

The man, dressed in T-shirt and shorts, was seen walking along the side of the circuit during the race.

Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel, who won the race, had radioed his team saying: “There is a man on the track, there is a man on the track.”

Runner-up Daniel Ricciardo commented that the man was “taking a video”.

The safety car was deployed and the man quickly got off the track.
