Another suspect detained over Kevin Morais case

Police have detained another one of the two men sought to assist in the investigation into the case of the killing of Anthony Kevin Morais less than 24 hours after initial information on them were revealed.

Kuala Lumpur CID chief Zainuddin Ahmad said the man, M Vishwanath, 25, who works as a security guard, was detained at Taman Desa Aman, Padang Serai, Kedah, last night.

The detention, which raised the total number of people detained for the case to eight, followed information received from members of the public, he said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.

Zainuddin said initial investigations, however, revealed the man did not have any previous criminal record.

Yesterday, the police informed that Vishwanath and another wanted man, R Dinishwaran, 22, were being sought to assist in the investigation into the murder of Morais, who was the deputy head of the Attorney-General’s Chambers Appellate and Trial Division.

Photographs of the two men were also published yesterday.

The body of Morais, 55, was found in a drum filled with concrete at Persiaran Subang Mewah, Subang Jaya, near here last Wednesday. The deceased was reported missing on Sept 4 and he was last seen leaving his apartment at Menara Duta in Kuala Lumpur to go to his office in Putrajaya in a Proton Perdana car with the registration number WA6264Q.
