PAS will not attend the roundtable discussion to form a new opposition coalition, mooted to replace the now defunct Pakatan Rakyat.

Party deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said that while PAS will continue to work with PKR, it will not do so with DAP and splinter group Parti Amanah Negara.

"PAS thanks the invitation from PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail and deputy president Azmin Ali to the opposition roundtable, but PAS has opted not to attend."

He said in a statement that PAS will focus on strengthening its party machinery to prepare for its battle with the ruling BN coalition in the 14th general election.

However, he added PAS will work with the opposition coalition on issues such as abuse of power, corruption and misuse of public funds, especially on the 1MDB scandal.

The Pakatan 2.0 roundtable discussion is slated to be held this morning, which will be attended by PKR, DAP and Amanah.
